02_12_2008 TOREX COMMENCES EXTENSIVE CHANNEL DRIVE TO BOOST ASIA PACIFIC GROWTH
SINGAPORE – December 2nd 2008 - Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex™), the leading global provider of innovative, integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace, today announced that the cornerstone of its growth strategy in Asia Pacific would be the recruitment of a strong partner network in the region.
Torex has over 20 years’ experience in supplying quality solutions to the extended retail sector. It has more than 7,000 customers across 19 countries, including: China, Malaysia, India and Australia.
It has achieved this by maintaining an intelligent balance between direct customer engagement and a channel partner network that matches customers’ requirements - not only for operational efficiencies but for the ability to excite, engage and retain customers for a greater return on investment.
As Torex now targets an extended footprint in Asia Pacific - both gaining new customers and by supporting global clients who are expanding into the region, it is now the right time to extend our Partner Network to include local experts who can help retailers optimise their investment in Torex Solutions.
Graeme Cooksley, President & COO, Torex, explained, ‘Our goal is to become a trusted partner in the Asia-Pacific region. Superior IT solutions, excellent customer service and deep industry knowledge are critical components for this. While we can provide customers with proven and innovative solutions to retail challenges in today’s markets, we recognise the contextual value that local specialists will bring to our offering – and, most importantly, to our customers.’
The new channel partners will join existing valued Torex partners, such as Fujitsu China Holdings, which counts Ajisen and Donut King as clients.
Spearheading the Torex channel recruitment drive in Asia Pacific is Steven Rees-Pullman as Vice President, Channels. With over 12 years’ experience of establishing successful channel networks globally, he has the ideal background to build partnerships for Torex within Asia Pacific.
Steven Rees-Pullman said, ‘The retail industry in this region is experiencing major growth and those retailers who demonstrate forward thinking at this juncture will be the ones who will ultimately lead their respective markets. Our market-leading solutions, combined with the expertise of our new partners, will help retailers in Asia Pacific to realise such goals.’
The solutions that Torex and its channel partners will promote in Asia Pacific are:
• Torex™ Retail POS Business Edition (formerly DRS-POS) - a modern POS application ideal for small to medium retailers. It provides complete functionality out-of-the-box, including automation of processes and reporting, a modern user interface, international capabilities and support for mixed environments offering both retail and hospitality capabilities.
• Torex™ Petroleum & Convenience POS (formerly Lucas-POS) - an open standards-based POS solution designed specifically to provide petroleum and convenience retailers with a flexible and scalable system that supports their customer service requirements. It can run on either Windows or Linux, and is highly configurable and quick to implement. As it is based on the ARTS Data Model and uses open XML based interfaces, this solution can also integrate with legacy forecourt equipment and payment systems, retail management, merchandising and stock solutions.
